Product Description
Cradle cap looks alarming and is extremely common. This is a three-step routine designed for it specifically.
The three steps, in order: Lather. Use the soft foam sponge to work baby shampoo or a gentle oil into the scalp. Loosen. Massage in small circles with the bristle brush to lift the flakes away from the skin. Lift. Use the fine comb to comb the loosened flakes out of the hair.
Timing helps: Applying a small amount of oil about 30 minutes before bath time gives it a chance to soften the flakes, which makes the loosening step considerably easier. Rinse thoroughly during the bath so no residue is left behind to build up.
Between baths: Limit shampooing to two or three times a week, since over-washing strips the natural oils and can make dryness worse. Use a fragrance-free, gentle baby shampoo, and pat the scalp dry rather than rubbing.
When to check with someone: Not every flaky scalp is the same. If the scalp is red, oozing, significantly irritated, or simply not improving, have a pediatrician or dermatologist take a look before continuing.
